Water Management & Drainage
In my opinion, water management is the most crucial aspect of bentgrass/poa maintenance in hot and humid climates. I have taught and performed proper hand watering techniques as well as other methods of water management to prepare outstanding golf conditions year-round.
Drainage is very important to facilitate healthy turf. ROOTS are the most important part of growing strong turf and this will not happen without functional drainage.
Integrated Pest Management
I am a firm believer in using resources wisely. This stems from our responsibility as turf managers to be stewards to our environment. I am proactive in using my turf education to observe the golf course daily during high disease pressure periods. Chemical applications should only be made as a last resort. I am a strong proponent in an organic based fertilization program.
Educating, Training & Leading
I take great pride in our staff’s ability to produce pristine conditions for our members and their guests daily. Through educational events, ongoing training, leading with positive reinforcement and providing globally recognized internship programs, we are constantly evolving.
Natural Disasters & Repair
Natural disasters are inevitable. However, we never know when they will strike. They can cause major damage resulting in thousands of dollars in repairs. The key is to react quickly by devising a plan to reopen the facility as soon as possible to continue to generate revenue.
Club Property Maintenance
I have maintained many elaborate club facilities and fully understand what is required to keep a property in its most presentable condition at all times to welcome the membership and their guests.
Technological Tools
I apply new turf technologies and web-based tools to assist with agronomic decisions to ensure consistent playing conditions, efficient utilization of resources and organizational structure.
